Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements, including researching proposals, preparing for negotiations, and acting as a lead negotiator.
  • Manage the grievance process by investigating complaints, mediating disputes, and representing the company in arbitrations and other proceedings.
  • Advise management and employees on the interpretation of collective agreements, human resources policies, and labor laws.
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and programs related to human resources and labor relations to meet organization's requirements.
  • Support management and employees by providing advice and guidance on various labor and HR-related issues.
  • Research best practices in employee benefits, compensation, and health and safety to recommend policy change

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience either in a corporate legal department or at a law firm
  • Must have Utility knowledge experience in power distribution or transmission
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities with a business-minded focus to support operations
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels and across all functions within the company
