Our clients are an equal mix of consumer (i.e. finance, tech and pharma) and lifestyle (i.e. spirits, design & décor, fashion/retail, sports and beauty) brands, so while this posting is for a consumer whiz, our ideal candidate is someone who feels comfortable playing on both sides of the court.

About the role:
As an Account Specialist, you will help manage accounts and support coordinators and Specialists with pitching and sourcing wherever needed.

Roles and responsibilities of an Account Specialist include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving 360 media landscape and actively foster relationships with relevant media and influencers
  • Provide support on day-to-day client communications and serve as an effective account lead on select accounts with limited support from Account Manager
  • On some accounts, act as the main client point of contact without Manager support
  • Develop and/or review media and influencer lists, and pitch effectively to deliver exceptional program results
  • Negotiate influencer contracts or seed influencers for program campaigns
  • Develop and/or review press releases, media advisories, key messages and editorial calendars
  • Coordinate events with ninja-like precision and attention to detail
  • Participate in new business pitches
  • Track hours and expenses
  • Develop client budgets
  • Begin learning the planning and plan writing process on accounts - experience with strategy development

About you:

  • A postgraduate degree in public relations, marketing communications, journalism, business or similar background
  • 2-3 years of directly related experience; an agency background is a must
  • Experience working with lifestyle and corporate accounts/clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong technical and creative writing skills are a must
  • Strong media relations skills and relationships, and track record of successfully delivering measurable results
  • Excellent organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects within established deadlines
