Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced South Indian Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for food preparation and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. Candidates with restaurant management background and supervising experience are highly preferred.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, ensuring efficient workflow
- Manage food preparation processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all menu items
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Lead menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with health codes
- Train new staff on food safety, proper cooking techniques, and customer service expectations
- Collaborate with restaurant management to optimize operations and enhance guest satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of ingredients
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and leadership within the team
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant service
- Supervising experience in a culinary or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Extensive kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant setting
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and innovative menu creation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays as needed
