About The Humane Choices Foundation

The Humane Choices Foundation is a registered nonprofit organization based in Ontario, Canada, committed to protecting and defending the inherent rights of all animals. Through advocacy, education, and direct action, we work to end cruelty, exploitation, and neglect — building a world where every animal can live free from suffering.

As we expand our programs and digital initiatives, we are looking for a dedicated and mission-driven Partnerships Manager to help us build strong, meaningful relationships with organizations, institutions, and individuals who share our vision for a compassionate future.

Position Overview

The Partnerships Manager (Volunteer) will be responsible for developing, nurturing, and managing strategic partnerships that support the Foundation's mission, campaigns, and long-term sustainability.

This role involves outreach, relationship building, collaboration with internal teams, and identifying opportunities for co-branded initiatives, resource sharing, and ethical sponsorships.

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, a natural connector, and someone who believes deeply in the power of collaboration to create systemic change for animals and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership Development

  • Identify, research, and prioritize potential partners across sectors including nonprofits, educational institutions, student groups, ethical businesses, media outlets, and advocacy networks.
  • Develop partnership proposals tailored to the needs and interests of potential collaborators.
  • Initiate outreach and build relationships with organizations whose values align with animal rights, humane education, and compassion-driven advocacy.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain ongoing communication with current and prospective partners to foster long-term collaboration.
  • Coordinate partnership meetings, presentations, and follow-up communications.
  • Manage partner agreements, expectations, and shared deliverables in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Track partnership outcomes and ensure commitments are fulfilled on both sides.

Program & Campaign Support

  • Work with the Youth Programs Manager to expand university and college partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media and Communications teams to highlight partner contributions and co-branded campaigns.
  • Support fundraising and awareness events by securing sponsors, co-hosts, or collaborators.
  • Assist with arranging expert speakers, workshop facilitators, or panelists for events and educational programs.

Ethical Sponsorship & Funding Opportunities

  • Explore values-aligned sponsorships with cruelty-free, sustainable, and ethical companies.
  • Identify opportunities for grants, joint initiatives, or shared resource development.
  • Ensure all partnerships reflect the Foundation's values, mission, and brand integrity.

Internal Collaboration

  • Coordinate with leadership and program managers to ensure partnerships support organizational goals.
  • Attend virtual team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of partnership records, contacts, and deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to create compelling partnership proposals and presentations.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Passion for animal rights, humane education, or ethical advocacy.
  • Comfortable reaching out to organizations, businesses, and institutions.

Preferred

  • Experience in partnerships, fundraising, business development, community engagement, or nonprofit work.
  • Understanding of sponsorship agreements, donor stewardship, or corporate social responsibility.
  • Ability to represent the organization professionally in strategic discussions.
  • Experience using CRM tools to track partnerships and relationships.

What You'll Gain

  • A leadership opportunity to help build compassion-focused organization.
  • Direct involvement in creating partnership pathways that influence public awareness and systemic change.
  • Networking with ethical businesses, schools, community groups, and advocacy organizations.
