How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Coordinator, Community Outreach & Education is responsible for supporting the development, and coordination of assigned curriculum linked education & youth programs, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to effectively advance TRCA's strategic goals in Peel Region.
Major Responsibilities:
Supports the coordination and logistics for training and the delivery of education and community engagement programs and events.Organizes the logistics, communications, and plans for the execution of training, education programs, projects and eventsDelivers workshops, programs, training and/or other types of educational activities in various forms, including school and other stakeholder forumsMonitors, reports and tracks metrics related to event and program deliverables, while undertaking research into industry best practicesMeets with internal and external stakeholders as required to support the execution of education and training and community outreach programs and eventsCoordinates events working in conjunction with Marketing, Communications & Events as requiredCoordinates and consolidates information and data for grant proposalsManages equipment/supply inventories and promotional and program materials, replaces, repairs or purchases equipment for programsIncumbents may also be assigned other dutiesWhat will you need to succeed:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Environmental Studies, Outdoor Recreation, History, Geography or a related field Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening. Employees/candidates under the age of eighteen (18) years are not eligible to have a VSS, therefore will not be required.Experience
2+ years of experience providing program coordinator or administrationExperience teaching within a school, camp, or outdoor education centreKnowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
