Surgo Studios is a creative production agency based in Ottawa, helping brands and businesses tell their stories through compelling video, design, and digital experiences. We work with a diverse mix of clients and also produce internal content to showcase our own unique creative edge.

Role Overview

We're looking for a
Multimedia Production Intern
who's passionate about design, videography, and social storytelling. This role blends graphic design, social media content scheduling, and hands-on video production, giving you the chance to explore all sides of the creative process.

You'll contribute to client projects, support Surgo's internal content, and help bring fresh ideas to life across web and digital platforms.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who wants real industry experience, a strong portfolio, and the chance to grow into a full-time creative role.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design

  • Design visuals for websites, social media, and marketing campaigns.
  • Create branded graphics, digital layouts, and basic motion assets.
  • Support digital design projects with clean, engaging visuals.

Social Media

  • Build and maintain weekly content calendars.
  • Manage weekly posting and scheduling across platforms.
  • Write captions, assist with SEO optimization, and support social media copywriting.
  • Research trends and brainstorm creative content ideas.
  • Support short-form video concepts for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

Videography Assistance

  • Assist in shooting and editing videos for clients and internal projects.
  • Help with production setups, lighting, audio, and on-site shoots.
  • Edit and deliver polished content optimized for multiple platforms.

Creative Collaboration

  • Brainstorm and storyboard ideas with the Surgo creative team.
  • Contribute to planning meetings and creative discussions.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Strong design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Comfortable with videography basics: camera operation, lighting, editing.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and digital storytelling.
  • Ability to design for both digital and print formats.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Portfolio showcasing your design and video work (required).
