Position Overview

As a member of the Kitchen Team at Amato Trattoria, you play a vital role in bringing our Italian-inspired dishes to life. You'll work closely with management and fellow employees to prepare, cook, and execute dishes with consistency, care, and pride. From handmade pastas to perfectly grilled entrées, every plate you prepare reflects the craftsmanship, teamwork, and energy behind Amato's kitchen. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy collaboration, and take pride in their craft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to Amato Trattoria's recipes and standards for quality, presentation, and timing.

  • Assist with daily prep, portioning, labeling, and organizing ingredients for service.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety across all kitchen stations.

  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

  • Follow station checklists and closing procedures to ensure consistency and readiness.

  • Communicate clearly with management and other kitchen employees to maintain flow and accuracy.

  • Work collaboratively to uphold pace and professionalism during high-volume service.

  • Support the team by assisting with restocking, rotation, and daily prep tasks.

Qualifications

  • FOODSAFE certification is an asset.

  • 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen or similar environment.

  • Strong knife skills and solid knowledge of kitchen equipment.

  • Clear understanding of measurements, recipes, and portion control.

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine commitment to teamwork.

  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.

  • Ability to lift moderate weight and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
