About us

We are seeking an experienced Chef to lead the culinary direction of our dedicated team of industry professionals. The Mahle House has been on the forefront of the Vancouver Island dining scene for 40 years. The successful candidate will work closely with the owner/executive chef, the sous chef and the rest of the team.

Ideal start date early December 2025.

This position will be afforded the creative freedom to develop new dishes, working with local products and suppliers.

The successful candidate will oversee and participate in purchasing, prep, service, cleanliness, health and safety, training and development. During service this position involves working a station while overseeing the kitchen team.

Responsibilities include:

  • menu development including features and special event menus
  • training and development of the rest of the team
  • quality control
  • managing food and labour cost
  • liaise with FOH team regarding menu and service
  • maintaining cleanliness and sanitation routines
  • Partner with FOH manager and executive team to develop seasonal events and menus

Weekly tip-pool in addition to salary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$72,500.00 per year
