Supervised ABA Therapist #01-0011

BONDS Autism Centre provides services to children and young adults with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from the onset of diagnosis to 25 years old.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize behaviour management strategies- Understanding that this position works with a vulnerable population who may engage in aggression towards self/ others or property destruction
  • Work closely with a team and under the supervision of a Senior therapist- Registered Behaviour Analyst-BCBA and clinical supervisor
  • Responsible for data collection, graphing and progress notes
  • Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSP) and skill acquisition programs while monitoring effectiveness of ABA programs and communicating in team meetings
  • Assist in conducting assessments such as ABLLS-R, VB MAPP, AFLS
  • Provide 1:1 or group support for children and young adults in clinical programs
  • Support recreational programs as needed
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with families and other professionals
  • Additional duties may be assigned as required by centre needs

Qualifications

  • Must have college diploma or university degree in autism and behavioral sciences/ technology or similar
  • Experience providing ABA/ IBI services
  • Strong experience working with and knowledge surrounding Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Must be physically capable of performing the job duties, including but not limited to physical intervention, floor and table learning and movement to support elopement and safety situations

Stipulations:

  • Availability to work days, evenings and some Saturdays based on sign up when groups are available (hours are within Monday- Friday 8-5 otherwise)
  • Location may vary- home, community and centre programming- own transportation is required
  • Required to have first aid certification within 3 months of employment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
