Reporting to the Manager of Autism and Behavioural Services, the Behaviour Analyst will provide specialized consultation across all programs at ROCK for clients with complex behavioural needs and/or dual diagnosis.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide specialized consultation across all programs in the agency to support teams in supporting the understanding of child’s behaviour as well as strategies to support and resolve behavioural challenges with clients and families.
- Work directly with clinical staff across the agency, including Psychotherapists, Child and Youth Counsellors, Social Service Workers, Crisis Counsellors, etc., to provide coaching, mentoring and clinical consultation.
- Attend meetings with a multidisciplinary team, families, and ROCK program team meetings offering behaviour analytic consultation.
- Attend case conferences and meetings to support clients as needed.
- Support connections to other relevant services and, with consent, share information and the service/Safety plan.
- Explore flexible and innovative approaches for service delivery to meet the needs of children/youth and families and bring forward innovative solutions.
- Participate in training to increase one’s own, as well as the agency’s capacity, to support children, youth, and families with mental health and additional challenges (FASD, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, etc.)
- Consult and support various group programs available at ROCK.
- Operationalize client safety through adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care, and by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents.
- Abide by the specific requirements of Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as any further health and safety responsibilities outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Participate in select community committees, as well as operational agency committees as required (i.e., accreditation, program evaluation, community of practices.)
- Model and further enhance the agency’s cultural competencies.
- Other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:
- Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (or equivalent) is required.
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) designation, in good standing, is required.
**Experience**:
- At least five years of experience delivering services using ABA with children and youth, under the supervision of a BCBA or Registered Psychologist with experience in ABA.
- Experience working with children and youth from infancy to age 18.
- Experience working with children who have mental health concerns, varied communication skills, varied social skills needs, vocational skills needs, and children who engage in challenging behaviour, etc.
- Previous experience providing family and client-centered care when designing both group and individual ABA interventions is required.
- Previous experience facilitating and developing training and educational workshops for individuals of diverse educational and professional backgrounds.
- Previous experience supervising and collaborating with frontline staff of varying skill levels and experience and diverse professional backgrounds. This includes experience training frontline staff in both individual and group formats to implement behaviour plans, antecedent strategies, co-regulation and self-regulation skills, skill acquisition programming etc.

- Commitment to strength-based principles of child, youth, and family-centered approach.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
- Proficient in completing assessment and writing Behaviour/Safety plans in the areas of communication, maladaptive behaviour reduction, self-regulation, daily living skills, social skills, play and leisure skills, vocational skills, etc.
- Proficient in collaborating about ABA interventions with a variety of implementors (caregivers, therapists, frontline staff with mínimal ABA background, etc.)
- A passion for Integrating Mental Health and ABA services to support youth to access individualized services, when they need them.
**Additional Requirements**:
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Proficient in the use of technology as required of the position including working in a virtual environment, MAC OS operating systems experience preferred.
- A current (within three months) criminal reference check with vulnerable sector search.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings according to client and/or program need.
