Superior Asphalt Paving Ltd. is Lower mainland's best Asphalt Paving Company. We are located at 23633 Fraser Hwy, Langley, BC V2Z 2K5. We have been in business for over 49 years and have paved over 50 Million square feet of Asphalt in commercial, municipal and residential projects around the Lower Mainland and Metro Vancouver areas, B.C.

We are looking for a permanent full-time, dynamic and reliable Asphalt and Concrete Paving Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be a team player, who is personable, extremely well organized, has high attention to detail and is very efficient.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Report directly to senior estimator
  • Review Asphalt Paving and Concrete scope of work to be priced
  • Accurately review plans, sections, and written specifications
  • Perform material take-offs using Planswift software
  • Request pricing from suppliers and acquire quotes from subcontractors
  • Organize bid documents, take-offs, and supplier quotes
  • Review supplier pricing, take-offs, specifications, proposals and bid documents
  • Carrying out any other works or assignments related to estimating or tendering as required
  • Actively looking for new Paving projects on BC Bids and other Tender Invites platforms

Skills and attributes:

  • Must know how to read site blueprints and produce accurate take-offs
  • Experience with Estimating software Planswift will be an asset
  • Strong communication skills in English, attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Strong computer skills MS Office (word, excel, power-point)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving & time management skills
  • Detail oriented, motivated and goal driven
  • Ability to prioritize job responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate well and work calmly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma and 5 years related project management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in civil construction.
  • Experience in estimating civil, earthworks and Paving projects, specifically with PlanSwift software.
  • Project management training/certification considered as asset. (CAPM or PMP)
  • Proficiency with construction drawings, MS Office Applications (Microsoft Excel and Project).
  • Experience in the road/street works, utility Trench installation, excavation, and general concrete works.

Experience:

Estimating and Project coordinating with Site-Superintendents: Must have 2 years Experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour
