Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud architecture solutions utilizing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, Rackspace, and VMware.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, and OpenStack to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop automation scripts and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Shell Scripting to streamline deployment processes.
  • Maintain and enhance cloud infrastructure security through system hardening and best practices for system management.
  • Build and support web services and APIs using RESTful architecture for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS environments.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to facilitate application deployment using CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and other DevOps tools.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure components such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle databases, NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning for cloud-based systems.
  • Support the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices within the cloud environment when applicable.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and managing cloud architectures across multiple platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, VMware, OpenStack, Rackspace.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration, VMware vSphere/ESXi.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet for infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with web services development using RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of operating systems including Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows Server environments.
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL Server; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles including VPNs and system hardening techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud development frameworks such as Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
