Who we're looking for:
We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Support Engineer with deep expertise in AWS and telecommunications to support high-performance, compliant network architectures for telco workloads.
This role combines cloud networking, automation, and telecom-specific requirements to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions across hybrid environments. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in cloud-based telco infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory alignment.
What you'll do:
- Design and deploy robust network topologies for Telco workloads in AWS including VPCs, VPNs, Direct Connect, and hybrid cloud integrations.
- Support telecom-specific solutions incorporating high availability, low latency, and compliance with telco regulations and standards.
- Configure and manage AWS Direct Connect & Dedicated Interconnects, including setup of virtual interfaces and BGP routing
- Configure, monitor, and optimize routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF) for dynamic, resilient traffic management between AWS and telco environments.
- Implement and manage network security using firewalls, security groups, ACLs, and segmentation strategies specific to telco and cloud constraints.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document network performance, connectivity, and latency issues affecting both cloud and telco assets.
- Automate network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring tasks using IAC tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for repeatable, auditable deployments.
- Collaborate with DevOps, telco, and infrastructure teams to align cloud networking solutions with emerging telecommunications technologies and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and infrastructure-related issues in hybrid environments
- Participate in on-call support for network and infrastructure incidents based on operational requirements.
What you bring:
- 3+ years in AWS and Google Cloud with a focus on hybrid/multi-cloud networking (AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, VPNs, PrivateLink, IPv6, EKS)
- Deep telecommunications knowledge (5G, LTE, SIP, MPLS, SCTP) and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, ISO27001, CRTC standards)
- Skilled in BGP, network optimization, and secure cross-account access
- Proficient in automation (Terraform, Ansible, Python), SDN, and virtualization (NSX, Kubernetes)
- Experienced with firewalls (Fortigate, Juniper), monitoring (CloudWatch, Wireshark, Nagios), and disaster recovery
- Strong grasp of network routing protocols, especially BGP and BGP communities
- AWS and Google Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking, Solutions Architect Pro, Google Cloud Network Professional) are a plus
