The role:

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support to employees and maintain the day-to-day operations of our IT environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users, and building strong technical foundations, with room to grow.

You will manage end-user support and work closely with senior IT staff to escalate and resolve more complex technical issues.

This is an onsite role at our office in Richmond, BC, with limited opportunity for remote work. You must be located in or be willing to relocate to the Lower Mainland.

Your primary areas of responsibility are:

System Administration:

  • Support and maintain Windows and Linux client systems, and assist with server administration under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Perform user and device administration within Microsoft 365 and on-premises Active Directory, including account provisioning and access changes.
  • Assist with hardware and software asset management across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Network Security:

  • Assist with the configuration and maintenance of networking components such as switches, VPN clients, and general connectivity.
  • Monitor, report, and document network or security-related issues or failures.
  • Escalate security or network concerns to senior IT staff as needed.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support for end-users, including hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests in accordance with company policies and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Document issues, resolutions, and escalation steps within the ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex or infrastructure-related issues with clear documentation.

Project Support:

  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and technology deployments.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager on assigned project tasks, including execution and testing activities.
  • Support rollout and post-implementation validation.

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in an IT support or systems support role.
  • A diploma, degree, or certificate in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience supporting users, devices, and systems in a Windows and Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Experience with user administration, device deployment, ticketing systems, RMM tools, and basic Active Directory tasks.
  • Experience supporting a corporate environment with 50+ users.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
  • Interest in growing into a systems or infrastructure-focused role.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalent) are considered an asset.

Salary: $75,000 to $90,000per year (negotiable based on your experience, qualifications, and internal equity).
