The Portage la Prairie School Division is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic resource teachers to join our team.

Portage la Prairie School Division is approximately a 50-minute drive down the Trans Canada Hwy West from Winnipeg and is 1,500 square kilometres in size. We have approximately 3,500 Kindergarten to Grade 12 students and provide teachers and programs to schools in 9 area Hutterite colonies.

The Portage la Prairie School Division is committed to providing excellent educational programs to help students learn and mature. The Division believes strongly in the concept of community and promotes the provision of appropriate programs to meet the varied needs of students.

We offer robust professional development, a teacher mentorship program, and a comprehensive student services program for all our schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Province of Manitoba Teaching Certificate required
  • Manitoba Special Education Certificate (or in progress)
  • Strong knowledge of special education practices and differentiated instruction
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers to modify and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students
  • Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs and a wide range of abilities and needs, is considered an asset
  • Ability to support students in developing social, emotional and academic skills to enhance overall learning
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents and colleagues
