The Surface Partner Development Manager (PDM) role is pivotal in driving partner success and expanding Surface adoption through strategic alignment and execution. This role focuses on building trusted relationships with partner executives, enabling sellers, and delivering measurable revenue impact.
Responsibilities
Driving Revenue Growth
- Responsible for achieving/exceeding all revenue attainment to quota and commitment-based accountabilities for Canada.
- Evangelize partners' solutions to the Canadian sales teams, clearly articulating the partner's value propositions to the Microsoft teams to foster proactive engagement with Field sellers.
- Increase partner commitment to Microsoft through execution of integrated selling initiatives combining MS and partner resources to market, sell & deliver solutions.
- Review pipeline and drive opportunity velocity as appropriate.
Partner-Centric Growth and Strategic Alignment
- Build and maintain relationships with partner C-Suite executives to ensure strategic alignment and trust.
- Drive growth of Surface products and solutions at the partner level, increasing sales and market share.
- Translate account strategies into actionable sales plans using Microsoft and partner propensity models.
- Advocate for Surface and address partner needs with professionalism and purpose.
Strategic Opportunity Management and Revenue Execution
- Partner with sellers to identify high-potential Surface opportunities and craft tailored engagement strategies.
- Own revenue outcomes by managing deals from creation to close—whether sourced via Microsoft or Surface Concierge.
- Leverage cross-team collaboration and resources to overcome challenges, drive quote activity, and execute with excellence.
Partner Enablement and Engagement
- Deliver regular training sessions on Microsoft Surface products, updates, and competitive insights.
- Provide strategic sales support and resources to strengthen partner capabilities in the Unmanaged space.
- Foster collaboration through consistent communication and inspire performance by recognizing achievements.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 5+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- Analytical, and problem-solving skills, be action-oriented, customer focused, be prepared to manage change, have solid planning and organizational skills with demonstrated execution excellence.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of direct sales and/or consulting services experience, with proven relationship building with others.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Surface products and competitive offerings a plus.
- Effectively work with peers and cross-group is critical; interpersonal skills and organizational agility are a necessity.
Partner Development Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $103,500 - CAD $170,700 per year.
