Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our retail store. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves overseeing store functions, driving sales, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in implementing company policies, managing staff, and contributing to the store's overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in daily operational tasks, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies
  • Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Manage payroll, cash handling, and POS transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff
  • Oversee pricing strategies, promotional activities, and store merchandising to maximize sales potential
  • Conduct training and development sessions for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Assist with budgeting, sales management, and inventory purchasing to meet financial targets
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and operational procedures
  • Implement marketing initiatives to promote store offerings and increase foot traffic
  • Perform administrative duties such as bookkeeping, record keeping, and reporting as required

Skills

  • Proven leadership with supervising experience in retail or related environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, staff, and vendors
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficient in POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for accurate transactions
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and team management
  • Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing techniques, and sales management
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and payroll processing accurately
  • Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing decisions
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
