Job Description:

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will work under the guidance of our experienced Japanese chef and contribute to preparing high-quality Japanese dishes.

  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
  • Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
  • Place dishes in storage area
  • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
  • Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
  • Scour pots and pans
  • Package take-out food
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
  • Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred

Languages:

  • English
  • Japanese (preferred, not mandatory)

Security and Safety:

  • Must pass a criminal record check

Position Details:

  • Part-time or full-time position available
  • Workdays: Wednesday to Sunday (noon and evenings)
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
