Senior Finance Manager
to join our Finance Leadership Team.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this role is a key driver of strategic decision making, investment appraisal, financial planning and business performance. If you're passionate about using data to influence business outcomes, partnering with cross-functional leaders, and developing finance talent—this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Strategic Decision Support (30%)
- Lead financial assessments of major capital investments including new store builds and large-scale reinvestments.
- Build and maintain advanced financial models (IRR, investment appraisals, scenario analyses).
- Conduct post-investment reviews, identify performance drivers, and embed learnings into future planning.
- Partner with Brand, Marketing, Operations, and IT to support menu pricing and revenue growth strategies.
- Identify margin enhancement opportunities and optimize return on investment across the business.
Financial Planning and Analysis (30%)
- Own the FP&A function for all Soul Foods Group Canada brands.
- Lead the end-to-end planning cycle: annual operating plans, forecasting, capital planning, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor external trends and perform scenario planning to support agile business decisions.
- Partner with the Finance Team and Operations to assess P&L performance and drive actionable insights.
- Support cross-functional teams with working capital management and cash flow forecasting.
Finance Business Partnership (20%)
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Operations through data-driven insights on margins, productivity, and growth.
- Connect operational metrics with financial outcomes to help leaders understand performance drivers.
- Build operational dashboards and support system automation initiatives.
- Strengthen sales and profitability through targeted initiatives and performance reporting.
- Support restaurant target setting and incentive program discussions.
People Coaching and Development (20%)
- Develop and mentor Finance Team Members, building capability and strengthening the talent pipeline.
- Create an environment that supports learning, growth, and high performance.
- Contribute to broader Finance people strategies and culture-building initiatives.
The Impact You'll Have
As a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, you will directly influence strategic decisions and financial outcomes across the business. Your insights, models, and guidance will support sustainable growth, profitability, and strong operational execution across more than 240 restaurants.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting or Business; MBA an asset.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting designation preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Finance or FP&A—QSR experience is an asset.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into simple, actionable insights for non-finance partners.
- Strong analytical and modelling capabilities; deep experience in forecasting, budgeting, business planning, and management reporting.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
- Creative problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with competing priorities.
- High proficiency in MS Office, BI tools, financial modelling, and accounting systems.
- A collaborative, proactive, "can-do" leader with strong business acumen and a drive for results.
