Payroll Specialist SAJO, headquartered in Montreal, with offices in London (UK), Milan (IT), and Miami (USA).  SAJO is an integrated project delivery company servicing North America, Europe, and other international markets with operations extending across retail, commercial, residential, public works, and utility sectors.  We design and build project environments from conception and project management through to delivery. WORKING CONDITIONS: A healthy environment, with a 37 ½ hour work week from Monday to Friday. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Payroll Processing:Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for Canadian and U.S. construction employees, including salaried staff, hourly field personnel, and SuperintendentsCollect and verify timecards from job sites; calculate overtime and pay premiumsEnsure compliance with construction-specific payroll regulations, including the Commission de la Construction du Québec (CCQ), as well as federal, provincial, and cross-border requirementsPost journal entries and prepare month-end reportsLeverage payroll software, particularly ADP Workforce Now and JD EdwardsMaintain confidential payroll and employee records, including status changes, deductions, direct deposits, sick leave, vacation, and other accrued leaveRespond to payroll-related inquiries, including deductions, wage garnishments, union remittances, and employment verificationsAdministration:Filing, scanning and digital record-keepingGeneral administrative support to other team membersQUALIFICATIONS:College diploma in Payroll Administration or equivalent educationOne to two years of payroll experience, preferably within the construction industryThorough knowledge of payroll legislation and employment standards across applicable jurisdictions (QC, Canada, U.S.)Experience with Payroll Software; ADP Workforce Now is preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Bilingual in French and English is required Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or equivalent is preferredAcute attention to detailStrong organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team BENEFITS:Group insurance available from the date of hireVacation time based on experienceAccess to a fully equipped gym with locker rooms and showersPrime location, just a 2-minute walk from the REMFree parking with accommodation for bicycles and motorbikesOn-site BIXI bike rental and docking pointExcellent inclusive working environment
