Hespeler Medical Clinic is a busy, 13 physician family practice located in Cambridge. We have an immediate opening for an experienced and reliable Medical Office Assistant (MOA).

**Summary**

The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for maintaining physician patient flow and assuming other responsibilities consistent with the job classification. This role functions autonomously and collaboratively with patients, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**

Develop and maintain relationships within the health care team; physicians, interdisciplinary health providers, and administrative team.
- Maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient encounters in a timely manner.
- Perform basic assessment procedures (e.g., measuring patient weight, height, and blood pressure).
- Administer/perform procedures as delegated by physicians.
- Prepare patients for physical examinations and treatment procedures.
- Utilize universal precautions to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain physical exam and treatment room set up in good order and keep well stocked.
- Cross-training as medical receptionist allows to help assist other areas when needed.
- Be familiar with the operations of office and medical equipment within clinic.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Education**:

- Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- Prior experience in primary health care field an asset.
- Proficiency in use of computer software, PS Suite experience an asset.

- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Ability to function effectively and efficiently both independently and as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
