The Coordinator, Food Services is responsible for human resources management, assisting with the planning, organizing, directing and controlling the administrative activities of the service, staff scheduling, ordering supplies as necessary, maintaining standards for portioning of food, ensuring that standards of safety and sanitation are maintained as established by the City of Winnipeg Environmental Health delegating responsibility and duties to appropriate Dietetic personnel and performs other related functions.

Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures (i.e. utilizing personal, protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifies management or coordinator of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers, or any others who enter the premises.

**Education**
- Successful completion of an approved Food Services Supervisor’s course, Degree in Human Nutritional Sciences or equivalent;
- Valid Food Handling Certificate; and
- Minimum 1 year experience working in Food Services in a healthcare setting

**Experience**
- Previous experience in the supervision of Food Services in health care setting;
- Experience in the use of personal computers in a Windows environment; and
- Working knowledge of ESP

**Abilities and Skills**
- Knowledge in general office procedures including, filing, photocopying, record keeping and data entry;
- Ability to understand Dietetic terminology;
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks within predetermined time frames, with minimum supervision;
- Ability to supervise and communicate directions effectively to staff;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other disciplines, residents and external agencies;
- Ability to perform effectively as a team member;
- Ability to adapt readily to a changing environment and respond with initiative and ability to prioritize activities;
- Ability to retain information on a confidential basis;
- Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance;
- Initiative and judgment to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records, is essential; and
- Must be in good physical and mental health.
