**POSITION SCOPE**:
The Coordinator - Transportation is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments throughout Canada and the US. The coordinator is expected to build and maintain relationships with various transportation companies and will work closely with Customer Service team; DC Shipping team and the Senior Manager - Transportation.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Schedule outbound TL, LTL and Air shipments for USA and Canadian customers. Including Containers
- Schedule outbound Lowes
- Schedule inbound shipments from USA or Canada
- Schedule outbound deliveries for local customers (daily line up with Rosedale, Rahi, and Sim-trans)
- Follow up with carrier to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered in a timely manner
- Additional duties, as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education preferred, preferably in logistics or similar field.
- 1 to 2 years prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics or warehousing type of environment
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and administrative skills required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Team oriented, quick learner, with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously, with accuracy and effective execution and with little direction

**This position also includes**:

- Work requires a moderate amount of analysis, problem solving and reasoning in duties that are straightforward, repetitive and involve different but related processes and methods. Demonstrates problem solving abilities in order to adjust to variations in daily duties.
- Demonstrated accountability for quality, accuracy and adherence to work instructions with some discretion required when exercising duties within pre-determined limits and procedures
- The provision of some guidance of limited complexity to other staff is required. The amount of problem solving and the degree of challenge in providing oversight is routine and simple
- Demonstrated understanding that work contributions have limited influence beyond the immediate Supply Chain department or organization and as such duties are executed with care, accuracy and compliance to instructions
- Work occasionally requires creative or innovative thinking, problem solving, or idea generation in carrying out duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with peers within a work area or have routine contact with customers or suppliers.
- Interactions with internal or external customers involves common courtesy, providing information and support
- Understanding that work efforts may have a minor impact on the employer brand and public reputation and as such ensure that behaviour and communications shall be professional and accurate at all times
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgement and allocate work effort and time accordingly relative to the scale of the task and impact on the business

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Most work is performed in a standard office setting with some warehouse exposure with adverse conditions or health and safety risks. Safety equipment and precautions may be required
- Position requires low level of sustained visual attention, moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis with sitting at length
- Work requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time
