**BACKGROUND**:
**OVERVIEW**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Employee Relations, Performance and Attendance Management
- Coach managers on conflict resolution, performance conversations, and progressive discipline
- Conduct exit interviews
- Revise processes, forms, and documentation related to performance management
- Monitor absenteeism and support attendance-related interventions
- Accommodations
- Lead support for workplace accommodations and return to work planning
- Guide and counsel employees regarding leaves
- Policy Support
- Benefits Administration
- Liaise with benefit providers regarding eligibility, claims, and coverage inquiries
- Support employees with enrollment, maintenance, and changes to pension and group insurance
- Operational Programs & HR Systems
- Lead HR compliance initiatives
- Maintain HR program manuals and SOPs and manage internal HRMS reporting
- Workplace Safety & Health Program
- Coordinate the Workplace Safety & Health program, ensuring compliance with OHS legislation
- Serve as liaison to the Workplace Health and Safety Committee
- Other duties as assigned
**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience performing a broad range of Human Resource functions
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation will be considered an asset
- Current knowledge of standards and legislation as they relate to human resource management
- Experience resolving complex employee relations issues involving compensation, organizational behaviour, performance management, change management, and accommodations
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration
- Experience in the administration of workplace safety and health programs and compliance
- Strong understanding of HRMS with an ability to run reports and navigate systems
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to proactively organize/manage a high volume of time sensitive tasks
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Ability to function effectively within a team, demonstrating professionalism
- Speakers of Dakota or Anishinaabe would be considered an asset
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:
- Must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- A valid class 5 MB driver’s license with regular access to a reliable vehicle for business travel
