**Who We Are**

**SUMMARY**

The Bilingual Payroll Specialist will be responsible for providing end-to-end full-cycle payroll administration and support to a portfolio of payroll clients across Canada with extensive payroll variety such as all provinces, unions, pensions, benefits. The incumbent will complete Year-End balancing, Issuing T4s and RL1s. Senior Bilingual Payroll Specialist will use extensive analytical and communication skills to investigate and resolve inconsistencies in the system and payroll process.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Payroll Administration**
- Processes union & non-union payroll accurately and timely.
- Reviews collective agreements and ensures thorough understanding of all pay elements and schedules for various union groups.
- Processes all remittances in a timely manner. Reconciles the payments against payroll records and identifies variance if any.
- Acts as the first point of contact for all payroll inquiries from team members such as confirmation of employment calculation requests, explanation of payroll deductions, etc.

**Reporting**
- Completes monthly report for each union group including bank time, vacation time, day in lieu balance. Identifies the discrepancies with business record.
- Prepares annual vacation reconciliation report and pays out as per collective agreements.
- Consolidates payroll accounts remittance records.

**Year End Processing**
- Reviews PIER report and makes adjustment through yearend adjustment run.
- Reconciles HOOPP employee and employer contributions.

**Updates and Continuous improvements**
- Conducts required or necessary research through government contacts, internet research for regulatory changes and updates.
- Documents above findings with backup or applicable resource for future reference needs.
- Works with the Finance and HR team in the development, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of the payroll related processes including policies and procedures.
- Cooperates with other departments to investigate the issues and find the short
- and long-term resolutions.
- Ensures clear compliance adherence, effective stakeholder communication and precise accuracy.
- Maintains data integrity within and across systems, conducts system audits and reconciles discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy.

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**
- Minimum 5 years of payroll administration with Community College diploma.
- Experience maintaining data integrity with payroll audits and payroll analysis within and across systems.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Experience implementing new processes.
- Well-versed in reporting.
- Able to maintain high level of confidentiality given the sensitive nature of this position.

**Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation**
- Payroll Compliance Professional from National Payroll Institute.
