The Legal Billing Clerk ensures timely and accurate processing of the Firm’s billings.
**_ Duties & Responsibilities_**
- Responsible for the billing support for a group of lawyers including generating bills on a monthly basis, understanding and adapting to specific client billing requirements, working with US and international counterparts to open and bill files originating outside of Canada in accordance with international requirements, and transmitting bills through electronic billing hubs as required;
- Provide administrative support including pro-actively keeping track of deadlines, keeping client records current and lawyers organized;
- Responding and communicating with clients regarding billing inquiries;
- Liaise with legal assistants, law clerks, other lawyers and clients on file progress;
- Other duties as required.
**_ Knowledge, Qualities & Experience Required_**
- Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program and 3-5 years professional office experience preferred;
- Previous experience in a billing position an asset;
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & Word;
- Able to meet timely deadlines and ensure appropriate response times;
- Proven experience handling a high volume practice;
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities required to prioritize a high volume of tasks and manage priorities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Dedicated to providing quality customer support by providing service beyond expectation
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each.
