**Who You Are**:

- **Job Duties**_
- Maintain, review and revise Health and Safety Manual, Safe Work Practices, Job Hazard / Risk Analysis and Safe Job Procedures.
- Maintain Health and Safety electronic database of safety documents (inspections, toolbox safety talks and daily pre-work hazard assessments, workplace incidents / accidents) and worker training records.
- Develop new Safe Work Practices, Job Hazard / Risk Analysis and Safe Job Procedures.
- Act as Build Its Internal Auditor for IHSA COR internal audits.
- Maintain COR Certification through the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and assurance processes.
- Ability to take minutes for management, project safety and Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
- Prepare health and safety related documents for posting at project sites.
- Development of project safety plans, ensuring accuracy and revise as needed.
- Maintain an online MSDS database.
- Assist with the review workplace injury and accident reports for completion and accuracy.
- Assists with the collection and analysis of workplace safety incident data and produces reports and statistical information.
- Ability to use the WSIB On-line Services including submittal of WSIB Form 7 in accordance with Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
- Schedule and conduct orientations for new and existing employees.
- Schedule and delivery of safety training for workers and arrange for external training as necessary.
- Develop training materials and provide instruction.
- Interpret, communicate and reinforce corporate and project safety requirements to individual workers, work teams and subcontractors.
- Complete project safety audits to ensure compliance. Verify Corrective actions for identified safety deficiencies have been implemented.
- **Qualifications**_
- A University Degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management or a combination of education and industry experience.
- Experience with IHSA Certificate of Recognition (COR) program.
- Previous experience with COR process in construction a definite asset
- Minimum of two years of Health and Safety experience. Construction sector experience in an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Proven ability to recognize and evaluate hazards in the construction, industrial and aggregate sectors to develop hazard control systems.
- Excellent written and spoken communications skills.
- Excellent computer skills a must.
- Valid Ontario drivers’ licence.
