Warehouse General Labourer

Under the supervision of the Trim and Door Warehouse Supervisor and Trim and Door Department Manager you will be responsible for a variety of manual material handling tasks in support of the Trim and Door department. These tasks can include, but are not limited to; customer fulfillment, shipping and receiving, customer service, and other general duties as may be assigned.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accurately build customer loads and prepare for shipping.
- Assist customers and contractors.
- Measure, cut, and bundle wire shelving as directed on customer order sheets.
- Package interior door hardware (deadbolts, door handles, etc.).
- Assist with department inventory maintenance.
- Complete and hand in daily delivery paperwork.
- Always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers.
- All other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

**Education and Qualifications**:

- High school/vocational school/high school equivalent preferred.
- Previous Warehouse experience (preferred)

- Basic math skills.
- Read a tape measure.
- Communicate and understand verbal instruction in English.
- Ability to read and understand numbers on customer orders.
- Strong people, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work in a face paced environment.
- Ability to work well under tight timeline.

- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Able to maintain and clean and safe work area.
- Work safely and in accordance with all Health and Safety regulations.

**Qualifications considered to be an asset**:

- Current class IV or V Forklift Certificate.

**Effort Required**:

- Ability to work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions.
- Heavy lifting; must be able to lift 50lbs regularly.
- Frequently climbing up and down stairs.
- Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight.

**Working Conditions**:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Additionally, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
