A leading client in the food manufacturing industry is actively seeking a Production Supervisor. Below is the detailed job description for this pivotal role:
We are seeking a Production Supervisor with a proven track record in the food manufacturing industry. This role is pivotal in overseeing and enhancing our manufacturing processes, requiring a blend of technical skills and leadership qualities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Production Planning and Supervision**: Schedule and oversee direct production and packaging activities. Assign tasks and manage the team to ensure timely completion of the production schedule.

**Team Development and Safety**: Mentor and develop production staff to meet goals related to safety, environmental standards, production volume, and quality. Ensure comprehensive training and adherence to SOPs.

**Cross-Functional Coordination**: Liaise with departments such as Logistics/Sales, Inventory, Procurement, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Safety to ensure smooth production operations.

**Continuous Improvement**: Actively engage in enhancing manufacturing processes through best practices, cost reviews, and containment strategies.

**Quality and Compliance Focus**: Champion SQF (Safe Quality Food) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) to prevent contamination. Ensure compliance with food manufacturing standards and regulations.

**Leadership Skills**: Utilize strong influencing skills to ensure optimal daily workflow, adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

**Adaptability**: Work independently and collaboratively, adapting to evolving demands and schedules.

**Additional Duties**:
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory records and ensure the accuracy of deliveries for production.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment.

Packaging Oversight: Manage packaging processes, ensuring accuracy in labeling, lot numbers, and documentation.

Quality Assurance: Conduct in-process and post-process checks to maintain high-quality standards.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements in safety, quality, and efficiency.

Collaboration: Coordinate with the production teams, R&D department, and Quality department to establish new SOPs (if needed) and to update existing SOPs as needed for production.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Fluent in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in food production.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards in the food industry (e.g., Health Canada, FDA, GMP).

**Salary**: From $55,000.00 per year
