Description: The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

**Required Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. **Additional Required Qualifications**:
Must have between 3-5 years of relevant, related experience. Experience with development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of education materials and programming is required. Flexible, tactful with a positive reinforcement style and excellent conflict resolution skills. Proven exemplary communication, interpersonal and organization skills are essential. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities. You meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet. Physically capable of performing nursing tasks which could include transfer of clients.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Postgraduate studies or certification in adult education, gerontology, chronic disease management, and/or palliative care. Passion for dementia education and family-centered care. Minimum 3-5 years clinical educator experience preferred. Proficient with CCHSS, interRAI LTCf, Connect Care. Flexible and self-directed. Experience in supporting residents and families through end-of-life care. Acute and continuing care experience. Previous instructional experience an asset. Equivalencies considered.
