**Title: Lead Deficiency Technician**

**Type**: Full Time

**Reports to**: CEO/Operations Manager

**Compensation dependent on experience, benefits included.**

**Description**: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lead Deficiency Technician plays a key role by supporting, mentoring, and supervising our teams of Deficiency Technicians at work sites about Metro Vancouver. This role requires a keen eye for detail to ensure quality work and excellent organization, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills to work positively with field technicians and operations management.

**Responsibilities**:

- A core element of this role is handling call-out deficiency work, requiring a diverse skill set and the ability to independently complete these short-term jobs. Additionally, this role will work closely with management to subcontract this work.
- Ability to both perform and supervise the work of Deficiency Technicians, handling the deficiencies on site such as painting and drywall touch-ups, caulking, silicone, countertop repairs, mullion restoration, cabinets, flooring, and stain steel refinishing.
- Providing supervision, mentorship, and training to Deficiency Technicians to ensure work is completed to standard.
- Understanding and supporting the successful implementation of quality control and safety standard protocols.
- Understanding company policies and ensuring technicians understand and comply with rules and regulations.
- Providing constructive feedback, supporting the success of deficiency technicians with guidance and knowledge, and providing disciplinary actions when needed
- Working closely with higher level management to ensure that the activities of the organization are running efficiently.
- Creating long-term professional relationships and establishing strong communication channels with clients and superintendents.
- Providing administrative support, tracking business activity, delivering quality customer service, and collaborating effectively with management.
- Assisting with developing and implementing strategies and processes that maximize the productivity of the company's employees and daily business functions.
- Delegating maintenance tasks/schedules to the rest of the team and finding relevant vendors and service providers.
- Making sure that employees follow Safety protocols.
- Supporting the Maintenance team on tools/jobs whenever necessary.
- Keeping track of and ordering necessary supplies and material inventories.
- Updating maintenance logs for all onsite equipment.
- Ensuring basic tools and machinery are in working order by performing regular inspections.
- Assisting with training workshop planning, organization, and implementation
- Organizing, filing, and archiving necessary documents or warranties.
- Assisting the management team to evaluate technician’s skill sets and performance.

**Skills Required**:

- Technical Skills:
Painting, Silicone and caulking, Drywall repairs, Floor repairs, Tile repairs, Stone restoration, Mullion repairs, Cabinet and millwork repairs and alignment, Countertop repairs and refinishing, Bathtub Repairs and scratch removal, Stainless steel Refinishing, Spraytex ceilings, Damage prevention, Quality Control, Appliance Restoration.

(There is flexibility if there is not experience in all the services)
- A self-starter with a willingness to ask questions and find solutions
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with the Operations Manager
- Effective English written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to practice empathy and compassion to improve employees wellbeing
- Tech savvy and previous administration experience is an asset
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of or experience in trades and maintenance work is desired. Minimum 1 year construction industry experience, preference for deficiency experience
- BC Driver’s Licence
- Familiarity with SiteMax and Procore software is an asset
- Accountable team player with strong communication skills
