HotShot Coffee Sleeves is looking for an energetic, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our Prepress & Digital Printing team. Hotshot manufactures high quality custom branded cup sleeves, double wall cups, and plastic cups for both Canadian and USA customers. Clients include coffee chains, restaurants, hotels, advertising agencies and product distributors. Hotshot is one of the top producers of cup sleeves in North America ,and we are known for our high quality, quick turnaround and excellent service.

You will be part of a graphics team working with client supplied artwork and creating coffee sleeve or cup composite artwork in Adobe Illustrator. Some files are supplied print ready, while many orders will require you to prepare final artwork from customer supplied graphics. You will work closely with inside CSRs, as well as directly with clients from time to time when preparing art.

Much of the work is considered more 'production' oriented, as opposed to branding or creative graphic design. We generally focus on working with customer supplied graphic elements when creating sleeve and cup artwork.

**Responsibilities**:
**GRAPHIC DESIGN**
- Receive print ready artwork and review overall quality, colour, resolution, etc and correct if necessary
- Receive artwork components and create new composite final artwork concepts based on client instructions (graphic design/layout skills required)
- Communicate with internal CSRs regarding artwork files (sometimes with clients directly) and prepare PDF proofs
- Update job workflow software through production steps

**DIGITAL PRINTING**
- If you have previous experience operating digital presses (Ricoh, Xerox, Konica, etc) then there are opportunities to be involved with digital printing
- Printing jobs on Ricoh 7500 press
- Using Fiery RIP, calibrating machine, etc

**Qualifications**
- Very strong Adobe Illustrator skills is a must You will use Illustrator extensively
- Thorough knowledge of the Adobe CS Suite (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
- Working knowledge of both PC and MAC platforms
- Graphic design experience for creating new concepts for client
- Understanding of prepress concepts including colour spaces (CMYK, Pantone), image resolution, etc
- Possess strong time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong English and communication skills-- spoken and written
- Positive, collaborative attitude and ability to work independently

**Bonus Qualifications**
- Understanding of the offset printing process and preparing art for offset presses
- Understanding of prepress including imposition and preparing for offset printing.
- Knowledge/experience making plates for offset presses using CTP system
- Past experience with digital printing presses (Ricoh, Konica, Xerox) and Fiery Rips
- Using large format inkjet printers for generating inkjet proofs

Salary is based on experience.
