FEIA Residence Events and Activities Coordinator

**Job Summary**

The FEIA Residence Events and Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of activities for our students whilst ensuring the highest standards of supervision and care, safeguarding, security and support for our students both on and off campus.

The role will require a hard-working, enthusiastic individual who will be able to easily fit into a friendly and supportive team of talented and committed staff who are focused on student well-being. **Primary Job Objective as a Residence Events and Activities Coordinator**:

- To plan and deliver new opportunities and activities/social events which are age appropriate and on and off-site.
- To supervise social activities on and off-site.
- To support House staff in being responsible for equipment/Risk Assessments and Health & Safety whilst running Activities.
- To assist with advertising and promoting student events.
- To encourage residential students to take part in social activities

**Responsibilities**

To adopt a flexible approach to fulfilling the job description and person specification which will involve weekend and evening work and participation
- To proactively ensure that FEIA's activities are carried out in accordance with organisational strategy, legislation and best practice in terms of Diversity and Equality

- Undertake any other duties as directed that can reasonably be accommodated within the scope and salary range for the job and your expertise The duties and responsibilities highlighted in this job description are indicative and may vary over time reflecting changes to internal and external factors. Post holders are expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities as required by Fort Erie International Academy that are relevant to the nature, level and extent of the post.

**Education, Experience and Skills**

Requires demonstration of strong leadership skills to work as part of a team; planning and organizational skills; skills to promote and support student activities as well as staff needs; problem solving skills; skills to support student success; service-related people skills; verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills to balance demands of a multitasking position; technology skills in the areas of office software, student database systems, and office equipment operation; and knowledge of legal liability.
- Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Diploma in Education, Child & Youth Care or equivalent
- Leadership experience and experience working in a Boarding School is preferable
- Experience dealing with people, and in particular, adolescents, sensitively, empathetically, tactfully, consistently and professionally at all times
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities, organize, schedule and solve problems and tasks.
- CPR Level C First Aid certification to be obtained within one month of employment, AED considered an assest
- Class G Driver's license, reliable vehicle
- Strong computer skills a must

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-25 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Weekend availability
