Here is what you will be doing:
Overview: The Cancer Screening Program at Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) focuses on delivering Ontario’s three cancer screening programs: ColonCancerCheck, the Ontario Breast Screening Program, and the Ontario Cervical Screening Program. The program is divided into three units: Program Design & Implementation, Operations, and Quality Management.
Role Summary: The Analyst, Health Policy is a key member of the Program Design & Implementation team, contributing to Ontario Health's screening-related objectives in the Ontario Cancer Plan and annual commitments to the Ministry of Health. The Analyst assists the Manager and/or Team Leader in executing key activities and developing deliverables within specific areas of expertise. This role involves developing processes and tools to implement program plans and supporting projects that are large, broad in scope, and complex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop needs assessments, jurisdictional scans, policy briefs, options analyses, and impact assessments to create program policies and guidance.- Support the planning, implementation, and maintenance of quality improvement initiatives.- Define scope and deliverables for initiatives in coordination with the Manager or Team Leader, focusing on specific areas of expertise.- Support clinical/scientific leads of cancer screening programs and/or primary care team.- Monitor, collate, and synthesize information on evidence, including clinical evidence, trends, and best practices to facilitate planning and decision-making.- Develop various products to execute the program plan, support internal and external communication, reporting, and decision-making, including tools, templates, briefing notes, reports, executive summaries, status updates, and presentations.- Organize and support internal and external working groups or advisory committees involved in policy development and program design.- Provide management and stakeholders with programmatic/status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on projects.- Develop and present material for review and informational purposes using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills.- Facilitate complex project interdependencies between projects and key partners.- Take efficient and prompt action to resolve problems, identify and escalate program risks to the Manager or Team Leader, and propose recommendations to address issues.- Develop and foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including health care providers, administrators, patient and family advisors, project teams, and committees.- Plan, develop, and support knowledge translation and exchange activities for various clinical initiatives/programs.- Support integration within OH departments on related work and other initiatives within Cancer Screening as needed.- Work for consensus and contribute to team/group goals.- Uphold core values and organizational culture.- Approach problems proactively and recommend thorough and practical solutions to complex problems.- Perform cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
