The **Booking Clerk **handles basic clinical tasks and performs administrative duties, thereby being of help to physicians and ensuring appointments and tests carried out efficiently. He/she must be equipped to maintain daily front desk operations and interactions with patients and their families/friends.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Greets all patients and visitors to the Clinic. Registering patients in and out of the Clinic.
- Triage referrals, scheduling procedures, consultations and follow up visits
- Addresses patient questions and queries.
- Answers telephone calls and addresses or forwards inquiries as appropriate.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Carries out measures to ensure the sanitizing of equipment, counter tops and other surfaces to prevent the spread of diseases
- Provides administrative office support services including filing, data entry, scanning documents, photocopying, and faxing.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Responsible for opening and closing of Clinic on a daily basis.
- Provides general maintenance of equipment to ensure safety (preventing slips, trips and falls).
- Maintains cleanliness of the Clinic (restrooms checks, mopping etc.).
- Provides administrative support to medical and administrative staff.
- Monitors the stock of office supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to use logic, critical thinking and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Actively communicate information verbally and in writing by conveying it as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite)
- Possess and exude a friendly, empathetic and professional disposition.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, including patients and their family members
- Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform duties in a professional manner.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to multi-task and possess solid time-management skills.

**Qualifications—Education and Certifications**
- High School diploma.
- Medical Office Certificate from a recognized training facility
- Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent, an asset
- Up-to-date Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), an asset.
- Minimum one year’s experience in customer/client/patient service, an asset.

**Working Conditions**
- Highly sensitive/confidential information.
- Availability to work evenings and/or weekends (Saturdays).

**Physical Requirements**
- Extended periods of sitting.
- Lifting of 50lbs or less.
