**Position Description**
- and inter-departmental collaboration. The School Engagement Coordinator will develop a strong understanding of Science World’s diversity of offerings and assets in supporting schools and will represent Science World in communications with schools and educators.
As a facility, Science World is generally open to the public seven days a week, with some extended evening hours in the summer months. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, with front-facing and operational teams also working a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays and evenings. Hours of work and other related requirements will be scheduled according to business needs and this may include special events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide logístical and administrative support for the Student Programs Manager, the Educator Programs Manager, and Experiential Learning colleagues in carrying out the yearly plan for school-related offerings (for example: field trip programming, online workshops, educator professional enrichment)
- Support Experiential Learning colleagues, while working with Marketing colleagues, in promoting school support offerings at events, at conferences and online
- Provide administrative support for:
- On-site and online programs for schools: pre/post-visit teacher communication, evaluation and support materials
- Internal and external reporting on school support metrics
- Educator professional development programs: booking, communication, event logistics, and support materials
- Play leading and supporting roles in the logístical planning of school-support events and projects, for example STEAM days of summer and pre-service teacher intern placements
- Coordinate the production of the educator newsletter and web pages to engage school contacts and support schools with timely resources
- Coordinate, report, and manage all communications with teachers regarding the field trip bursary program
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Experiential Learning and Visitor Experience team members to ensure schedule coverage, to answer teacher inquiries, and to recommend offerings and resources to teachers
- Act as liaison with teachers, school administrators, media and community representatives
- Opportunities to support Experiential Learning colleagues with program development and delivery as need and interests align
- Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of a High School graduation, a post-secondary education is preferred
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated dependability, reliability and flexibility and strong problem-solving skills
- Must be an engaged, responsive and respectful team player with a demonstrated effectiveness working in a dynamic team environment
- Confidence in using technology with strong troubleshooting skills and an adventurous attitude toward learning new skills
- Proven ability to be a self-starter who can work independently with mínimal supervision, as well as effectively collaborate within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, computers and teleconferencing software (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Streamyard), Microsoft Outlook
- Background in administration, communications or customer service is an asset
- Experience with website maintenance and social media are assets.
- Some evening and weekend work is required
This is a unionized position represented by CUPE 1004. The pay range for this position is $45,000-$50,000 per year.
