Detailing/project Coordinator

**Position Summary**:
The Detailing/Project Coordinator would be responsible for managing complex projects with multiple detailers, products and vendors from award to final completion. While cultivating a positive customer service environment and maximizing profits for Sherwood Steel.

**Position Functions**:

- Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts to ensure that we supply products and services in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Provide contract management of each project assigned, including coordination of the detailing, scheduling, delivery, and costs of products and services utilizing the company business system, industry standards, and other company resources.
- Oversee efforts to ensure that Sherwood Steel fulfills contractual obligations on the assigned project(s).
- Schedule and facilitate kick off meetings for any new projects/bids. Record actions and follow up on items to complete quote and/or project delivery
- Coordinate project requirements with the contractor’s representative as well as with the rebar installer, engineer, and/or architect using Sherwood Steel’s contract management guidelines
- Schedule the detailing and delivery of required products and services with the contractor, detailers, and Sherwood Steel’s production staff as needed.
- Review changes to the project to determine their scope, ensure the accuracy of the same and then process the appropriate documentation in accordance with the company’s change order procedures.
- Assist in the change order process culminating in the acceptance of the change order by the customer.
- Ensure detailed review of project estimate to actuals is completed and identify discrepancies to senior leadership
- Work with the Detailing Supervisor to help control the financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with customers.
- Create and maintain delivery log to ensure alignment across operations, sales, detailing etc. of projects in flight, status and key dates for material availability. Help identify conflicts in time/resources/material and recommend priorities to senior leadership
- Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Ensure all materials are organized and accessible on google drive including drawings, quotes, bids etc.
- Attend site visits as required to ensure project continues to progress, address any issues from end customer
- Ensure variances to estimates are tracked and change orders prepared and issued

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a project coordinator or project management responsibility
- PMP certification is considered an asset
- Previous experience coordinating several project/tasks or assignments concurrently with the ability to effectively determine priorities based on business needs
- Demonstrated experience working in the construction, manufacturing, or steel fabrication industry
- High attention to detail, accurate and thorough
- Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal. Able to translate technical concepts into simple context to ensure alignment at all levels in an organization
- Self starter with a proven track record of moving projects from initiation through to successful execution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular)
- Experience in aSa/Sage software would be an asset

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
