Refrigeration Technician- Factory Trained Technician

**Major Work Area**: Start Up and Commissioning, Maintenance, Service, Repair, Commercial, Industrial

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Perform Start up and Commissioning of ICE equipment in house and on site.
- Test ICE equipment to ensure all functions are working properly.
- Troubleshoot ICE heating, air conditioning, ventilation, equipment as well as accessories.
- Notice potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Install all refrigeration/gas components in shop or site.
- Brazing of pipe
- Require to travel (overnight travel)

**Additional Skills**: Customer service oriented, Coach and instruct apprentices

The work is most rewarding for those who enjoy variety, problem solving and working with little supervision.

To be successful in their trade, refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics must have:

- mechanical ability and interest,
- good coordination and manual dexterity,
- strength, stamina and the use of proper lifting techniques required to handle heavy tools and parts weighing up to 25 kilograms,
- the ability to work well with co-workers and deal with customers, and
- The ability to drive a service truck to worksites.

**Qualifications**:

- Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.):

- 4th yr. or Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification is MUST
- Gas Fitter Journeyman would be an asset
- Electrician Journeyman would be an asset
- Strong time management skills and organizational skills
- Superior communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Able to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot problems with electrical, air conditioning equipment.
- Able to repair A/C systems, repair leaks, recharge, etc.
- Able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various service projects
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Availability to work overtime and out of town work if required.
- Clean drivers abstract and successfully complete a background check
- Require to pass drug test when requested by the customer.
- Comply with Safety policies.
- Electrical and Automation Experience would be an asset
- To be able to travel by plane, you require proof of vaccination
