As a Cashier at Aroma Pastries, you will be key in providing exceptional customer service while handling transactions efficiently and accurately. Your primary responsibility will be to process customer orders, manage payments, and ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for our patrons. This position requires a friendly and approachable demeanor, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide information about products, promotions, and special offerings.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues with a positive attitude.
Cash Handling:Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment securely.
Provide customers with accurate change and receipts.
Order Processing: Efficiently and accurately input customer orders into the POS system.
Collaborate with the bakery staff to ensure timely preparation of customer orders.
Verify the accuracy of orders before presenting them to customers.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the cashier area clean and organized.
Monitor and replenish supplies such as receipt paper and bags.
Assist in maintaining overall cleanliness and tidiness in the pastry shop.
Team Collaboration:Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a seamless workflow.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and other team members to fulfill customer requests.
Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the pastry shop's product offerings.
Provide recommendations to customers based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
Compliance and Security:Adhere to cash handling procedures and security protocols.
Follow company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred.
Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
