General Liquids Canada, part of the Municipal Group of Companies, operates a state of art Liquid Asphalt Emulsion Plant, Liquid Asphalt Terminal, and Performance Laboratory for the Municipal Group of Companies. General Liquids Canada is looking for a Dispatcher to join our team based out of our facility in Waverley, NS.

Reporting to the General Liquids Canada Operations Team, the Dispatcher is responsible for daily logistics scheduling of internal and external contracted resources to meet all customer requirements, focusing on maximizing resource utilization in a safe manner. The Dispatcher is a critical member of the management staff, coordinate liquid asphalt and emulsion deliveries across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Collect daily liquid asphalt and emulsion orders/requirements from all customers
- Create daily logistics plan to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Ensure all drivers, internal and external have proper instructions to preform their duties safely including proper directions to customer locations
- Provide daily load schedule to Operations Manager
- Verify that drivers are on time with deliveries
- Work with operations team to ensure proper utilization and availability of trailer assets
- Ensure daily cut-off for shipping requests are being respected
- Find solutions for scheduling, customer and driver issues
- Dispatch drivers in a fair and consistent approach
- Report all incomplete deliveries to Operations Manager
- Collect data as required
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Equipment Safety and Regulation Responsibilities**
- Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance
- Assign proper equipment for the job requirements
- Ensure drivers have adequate time to preform duties safely within Hours of Work regulations
- Ensure all drivers are facility trained/onboarded before loading at the facility and have experience with liquid asphalt and/or emulsions

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience**:

- Logistics, Long Haul and Tanker experience would be an asset
- Familiar with liquid asphalt and emulsion would be an asset
- Good understanding of route planning
- Background in the trucking industry is preferred but not essential
- Self motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision
- Strong computer skills are considered an asset
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work
- Reliable and strong work ethic
- Professional attitude
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Post-Secondary education in a related field
- Previous supervisory experience in a transportation environment would be considered an asset

- dispatcher: 1 year (preferred)
- logistics / long haul / tanker: 1 year (preferred)
- supervisory in a transportation environment: 1 year (preferred)

- Class 5 Licence (required)
