**Parlee McLaws LLP** is a well-established Alberta law firm with 140 years of experience. We are seeking an experienced **Labour & Employment Legal Assistant** to join our team. This role is located at our downtown **Edmonton **office.

The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (37.5 hours/week), working for lawyers who prefer the assistant to present in the office the majority of the time, with some remote work flexibility.

**Position Overview**:

- Conduct court searches
- Draft correspondence, court, and financing legal documents
- Prepare a variety of legal documents including briefs and factums
- Manage incoming workflow from a team of lawyers/paralegal
- Calendar management including coordinating and scheduling meetings
- Preparation of accounts and time entry
- Generate reporting as required for insurance companies
- General administrative tasks including office and file management
- Other tasks as required

**Requirements**:

- At least 5 years of previous experience as a legal assistant in a litigation or labour and employment practice
- Post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant/Paralegal program (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Highly reliable with professional demeanor and conduct
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office programs
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and is committed to producing accurate and high-quality work
- Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines with a high degree of personal initiative
- Handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
- Collaborates effectively and works efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- Readily adapts to changing priorities and effectively works in a changing and high-volume work environment
- Possesses problem solving skills with a proactive mindset
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently
