**QUALIFICATIONS**: - Undergraduate degree in Child Life Studies, Child Psychology, Child/Adolescent Development, Child & Family Social Sciences, Education or a related discipline - Child Life Certification, or within a year. Current membership with the Child Life Council - Experience developing and administering assessments, individual treatment plans and therapeutic programming - CPR and First Aid certification - Must have recent experience in providing Paediatric patient support within the last two (2) years - Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to relay complex information and relate effectively with patients (of all ages and backgrounds), and health care professionals in a calm and professional manner - Demonstrated professionalism and community relations skills while dealing with the public (patients and families), as well as various medical and non-medical professionals - Applies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service - Evidence of effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment, critical thinking and decision making skills - Ability to work effectively within an inter-disciplinary team, is self-directed, and is able to work with mínimal supervision - Consistent and regular attendance required - Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset - In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Niagara Health will provide accommodations through the recruitment process to applicants with disabilities.
