Sales and Event Manager

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**
**Sales Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize event bookings and banquet revenue.
- Identify and build relationships with potential clients, including corporate, social, and wedding markets.
- Responsible for selling room nights, event spaces, food and beverage and event services
with a focus on corporate, social events, weddings and maximizing profits of the hotel
and banquet departments.
- Conduct site visits, participate in trade shows, prepare proposals, and deliver presentations to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure business while ensuring profitability.
- Maintain and update a database of leads, contacts, and past clients.
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
**Event Management Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet events, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to finalize event details, including menu selection, room setup, and AV requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, such as culinary, operations, and service staff, to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Control costs for banquet operations without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints during events promptly and professionally.
- Supervise and train banquet staff to deliver exceptional service.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Minimum 2-year hospitality sales work experience. A focus on corporate sales is preferred.
- Degree, diploma or certification in hospitality, event planning, sales or marketing.
- Proven experience in sales and banquet management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of event planning and catering operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Proficient in CRM software, event management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as
required. Ability to work long hours on occasion.
