ECE PlayLab is a **brand new Reggio Emilia Inspired early learning program** located in the heart of **Kingsland, Calgary**. Rooted in the belief that the Environment is a child’s third teacher, our space is intentionally designed to inspire curiosity, wonder, and meaningful connections. Our program is **grounded in early childhood research** and led by an experienced team with advanced qualifications in education leadership, curriculum design, and child development. We are currently seeking a **full-time Assistant Program Manager** to join our leadership team, who shares our belief in learning through play and are excited to work in a warm, collaborative, and cozy environment.

**Your responsibilities and primary duties**
- This is a 50% classroom / 50% managerial role. The Assistant Program Manager will be actively engaged on the floor supporting children and educators, while also fulfilling leadership responsibilities such as mentoring staff, supporting daily operations, and upholding program quality and compliance
- Assume the responsibilities of the Program Manager in their absence, ensuring a 100% compliance, continuity of operations, staff support, and high-quality care.
- Co-construct meaningful, play-based learning experiences inspired by children’s interests, grounded in the **Reggio Emilia approach.**:

- Oversee the daily operations of our early years program.
- Assist in the development and implementation of **The PlayLab Approach** and Create **#ASpaceOfWonder** for children in care.
- Support co-workers in planning and setting up learning provocations and provide guidance to ensure best practices in early childhood education.
- Nurture strong, authentic relationships with children and their families (We are a village, and you’ll be part of what makes it thrive).
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Foster positive relationships with co-workers to promote a collaborative and professional community.
- Observe and document children’s learning in meaningful and intentional ways through photo, learning stories, quotes, and artifacts (work samples) to **make their thinking and learning visible**.
- Provide guidance and support to children in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communicate openly and consistently with families, sharing insights, daily highlights, and collaborative goals for each child.
- Ensure compliance with childcare related regulations at all times.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and coaching sessions (because we grow alongside the children

**Your skills**
- Current Alberta **Level 3 Early Childhood Educator** Certificate.
- 5 years experience in Early Childhood Education industry, preferably in Reggio inspired program
- A Strong understanding of **Reggio Emilia**inspired curriculum
- Familiarity with **Generative AI and Google Workspace** **Apps**and Proficient in technology.
- Solid knowledge of Early Learning and Child Care Regulations.
- Solid knowledge of compliance requirements of Alberta Health Services
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate and Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is a MUST.
- Ability to create learning that caters to learning styles.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Strong organizational and communication skills

**Prefer to have**

- A special interest or skillset such as **visual arts, music and movement, yoga, storytelling, or design** that sparks joy and creativity in your practice.
- Experience working with newcomers and in diverse, international settings
