**About the Role**:
Claystone has an exciting opportunity for a Communications and Public Relations Advisor to join our team on a full-time basis. This hybrid role entails travel to work at Claystone’s beautiful LEED Certified Admin building in Ryley, AB (approximately a 1-hour drive from Edmonton) as required. You'll play a pivotal role in cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and implementing comprehensive communication strategies.

The Communications and Public Relations Advisor is primarily responsible for spearheading the creation and execution of government relations that align with strategic initiatives while nurturing relationships with vital stakeholders. This position will also develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to enhance Claystone Waste’s reputation among key stakeholders, customers, regulatory bodies and the wider public. Stakeholders include public and private entities, non-profit organizations, and the communities in which Claystone Waste operates. Working in close collaboration with diverse partners, municipal, and provincial government, the Communications and Public Relations Advisor will develop and execute actionable plans to advance the mission, values, and strategic objectives of Claystone Waste.

**We're Looking for Someone Who**:

- Has 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Holds post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrates proficiency with various social media platforms and website management
- Has knowledge of the waste management industry, or is willing to learn
- Has a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Has experience with government relations, municipalities, rural and urban cities
- Has flexibility in hours to attend community events as needed

**Responsibilities**:
The Communications and Public Relations Advisor, as a key member of the CWL team, will engage with various organizational layers, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders. Responsibilities include:
**1. Community Engagement and Relationship Cultivation**:

- Establish and maintain relationships with shareholders, organizations, and communities.
- Foster positive relationships with government partners and stakeholders.
- Identify and analyze community engagement initiatives.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and support advocacy strategies.
- Coordinate shareholder and public events.

**2. Communication Strategies**:

- Develop and implement communication strategies.
- Draft agenda, speeches, press releases, and marketing materials.
- Manage external communication channels and media relations.
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging.
- Create content for various materials and oversee external communications.

**3. Event Coordination and Promotion**:

- Design and coordinate events to promote organizational activities.
- Manage campaigns to increase public awareness.
- Represent Claystone Waste at community events and conferences.

**4. Progress Monitoring, Reporting, and Communication**:

- Monitor initiative progress and compile findings for reporting.
- Provide updated information for social channels and the website.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure effective communication.
- Accountable for monitoring potential impacts from policy changes.
