We are searching for a **General Labourer - Landfill and Transfer Stations** to join our team. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Provide general labour support to the operations team (ie: inspections, litter picking, cleaning (indoor, outdoor and equipment), operating skid steer, parts run); - Adhere to CWL safety rules, and follow procedures for reporting near misses and incidents; - Performing work assignments received from superiors, normally without close supervision. Work will be reviewed and evaluated in terms of the care exercised in operating and maintaining the systems and processes in place, and the promptness and completeness and quality with which the assigned work is performed; - Supporting other staff in executing assigned tasks, particularly in mentoring less experienced staff assigned to related work duties; - Providing coverage for staff absences due to illness, vacation or other leave; - Complete other tasks assigned by the Landfill Supervisors due to changing business environment. **WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE** - Alberta Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalency, or enrolled in school with intention to complete; - Good verbal and written communication skills in English suitable for greeting public and report preparation; - General skills in the use of electronic data collection equipment such as used for weigh scales; - Exhibit initiative and responsibility as well as an understanding of the capabilities of the equipment being operated, including limited use of environmental testing equipment; - Knowledge, skill and ability to operate equipment safely and be able to avoid accidents; - Exhibit a high level of initiative, work performance and responsibility in the performance of duties; - The general labourer shall possess a valid class 5 driver’s license acceptable in Alberta. **WORKING CONDITIONS** Listed below are key points regarding environmental demands and work environment of the job. - Able physical effort in handling objects up to 35 pounds occasionally; - Capable of operating safely in an environment with certain occupational risks; - Exposure to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the work day; - Normal setting for this job is: shop, landfill, transfer stations. **REWARDS** At Claystone Waste, every employee receives a competitive total compensation package including a competitive base compensation, full benefits plan, (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability).
