(CWL) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team

Our Compliance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations meet all local, provincial, and federal regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and environmental responsibility.
**What You’ll Do**:
- ** Ensure Regulatory Compliance**: Oversee and manage all aspects of regulatory compliance, including local, provincial, and federal regulations related to waste management and environmental protection. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and ensure all CWL operations adhere to the highest standards.
- ** Lead Site Inspections and Audits**: Coordinate and lead annual compliance internal audits, manage external audits, and conduct regular inspections of CWL facilities to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues.
- ** Maintain Accurate Records and Reporting**: Ensure accurate documentation of operations, environmental incidents, and compliance data. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies on time.
- ** Provide Training and Guidance**: Offer training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters, including waste tracking, environmental legislation, and protection measures.
- ** Manage Environmental Incidents**: Lead the response to environmental incidents such as spills, ensuring that corrective actions are promptly implemented and reported.
- ** Act as a Liaison**: Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities, handling approvals, coordinating inspections, and overseeing responses to compliance issues.
- ** Develop and Implement Policies**: Craft and implement policies that support compliance and reduce environmental risks in CWL’s operations, from landfill management to waste collection.
- ** Drive Continuous Improvement**: Constantly seek ways to enhance compliance efforts, reduce environmental impacts, and adopt new technologies or practices to benefit CWL’s operations.
**What We’re Looking For**:
- ** Educational Background**: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant post-secondary education with substantial experience will also be considered.
- ** Experience**: A minimum of 7-10 years in a compliance role, preferably within the environmental or waste management sector.
- ** Strong Understanding of Regulations**: In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, particularly those related to waste management in Alberta.
- ** Leadership Skills**: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, manage projects, and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- ** Attention to Detail**: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to produce accurate, timely work products.
- ** Excellent Communication Skills**: Ability to interact professionally with various levels of staff, regulatory officials, and the public, with a strong focus on diplomacy and professionalism.
