**The Opportunity**:
The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for Action Bus Operators to fill three (3) permanent part-time positions. Under the general direction of the Action Bus & Support Services Supervisor, the **Action Bus Operator** will operate Action Bus Vehicles transporting physically or cognitively disabled or elderly passengers. Carry out driving duties in accordance with highway traffic act regulations and the Action Bus Policies as it relates to driver responsibilities and the passenger assistance.
- 1 to 2 years commercial driving experience.
- Grade 12 High School Diploma or GED is a must
- Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's license with an acceptable Alberta Driver's Abstract
- An equivalent combination of experience and basic qualifications may be accepted.
- Completion of First Aid and a Defensive Driving course desirable
- Good physical condition, able to maneuver and handle a wheelchair, walker and or scooter.
- Experience in handling of wheelchairs, walkers and scooters
- Experience in working with persons with physical or cognitive disabilities or elderly passengers
- Good knowledge of The City of Red Deer

**Remuneration**:
$29.95 to $33.28 per hour

**Hours of Work**:
Up to 80 hours biweekly, with no minimum guarantee. Shift work, split-shifts and varied schedules will be a regular occurrence, including evenings and weekends. Successful applicants must maintain availability between 6:00 am and Midnight daily on assigned working days.

**Additional Information**:
**As this position requires a minimum of a Class 4 Driver's License with at least 1-2 years of commercial driving experience, and Grade 12 Education; please clearly indicate it in your resume.**
