**Organization overview**:
Reception House Waterloo Region (RHWR) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement services to Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) in Waterloo Region. We are looing for a motivated well-organized and experienced individual, familiar with the newcomer issues and the services in the community to provide case management settlement services to refugee families and individuals. RHWR programming provides a supportive environment to help refuges build upon their resiliency and empower them to integrate into the community, achieve self-sufficiency and independence.

**Job Summary**:
The case manager will provide intensive case management to refugees from diverse cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. The Case Manager will be responsible for a case load and work closely with the settlement and integration team. The core focus will be to support clients to navigate to supports and services they require to address their settlement needs and become self-sufficient and integrated into the community. The case manager needs to be resourceful, have strong interpersonal communication skills, be knowledgeable of the community and is a team player and an active listener.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assessing clients’ needs, prioritizing their needs, referring clients to appropriate services in the community, following up and evaluating clients’ progress.
- Facilitating orientation and information sessions with the clients.
- Empowering clients to be actively involved in developing their settlement plan.
- Accompanying clients to appointments in the community (mainly by public transportation).
- Organise case conferences with internal/external partners, as necessary.
- Regular communication and home visits to clients' to assess needs and settlement progress.
- Administering formal interviews and assessments to monitor settlement progress and support program evaluation.
- Entering data in internal and external databases, in a timely manner.
- Regular reporting and 1:1 meetings with supervisor.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development/training and play an active part in the development of program best practices
- Developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with service providers, advocating for the improved access to services.
- Upholding RHWR vision, and core values while serving the clients and interacting with service providers in the community,

**Requirements**:

- Combination of education and experience represented by a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related international or human service field with 1-3 years experience in providing direct service to refuges and immigrants in a similar position.
- Fluency in English, and at least one of the languages spoken by RH clientele: Dari, Pashto, Tigrinya, Arabic, Somali, Rohingya.
- Commitment to upholding refugee and immigrant rights.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills, must adhere to strictly to privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
- Must be flexible, punctual, and able to follow instructions and manage urgent and/or emergency situations.
- Strong administrative and computer skills and proven knowledge of Microsoft Office program and database systems.
- Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s license.
- Ability to work in a virtual, office and mobile setting.
- Must have or be willing to complete police background check.
