As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Exhaust is seeking an eager and enthusiastic **CMM Operator **to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.
**Position Overview**:
To operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to measure dimensions of parts, inspection fixtures, and machine jigs.
This position is reporting to the Quality Manager.
**What you will be doing**:

- Read and interpret customer drawings and specifications and identify appropriate inspection methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per GD&T.
- Assist in the preparation of sample PPAP submissions in a proper format.
- Interpret CMM reports to provide feedback to production.
- Compile CMM measurement data for Capability studies.
- Use various precision instruments to layout parts, fixtures & jigs.
- Perform a comparative analysis between measurements of blueprint dimensions and tolerances and identify discrepancies.
- Perform in-depth part layout using direct drive CMM and bench layout.
- Develop and implement computer programs using PC DMIS software.
- Perform capability studies and document results.
- Perform gage certification (dimensional), Gage R & R (repeatability and reproducibility), and interpret gage R&R data to determine acceptability for use.
- Maintain and verify check fixtures, maintain calibration systems and assist with PPAP submissions.
- Interpret and debug part programs.
- Create and maintain accurate set-up instructions for each program that may be re-used by other personnel.
- Use measurement variables for both machine movement and data manipulation.
- Maintain the CMM so that it is functional and meets production needs, and clean the machine to make sure that all tracks are clear of debris as per schedule or as required.
- Interpret completed studies and offer recommendations for process improvement if necessary.
- Schedule and track work to support production needs.
- Adhere to all company safety, quality, and continuous improvement policies and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**What you bring along**:

- 3+ years experience in CMM programming, operating, and/or quality assurance
- Experience using the following devices: CMM: Bridge and Romer/Faro Arm experience preferred Equipment Calipers, Feeler Gauge, Indicator, Micrometers, Height Gauge, PC, Pin Gauge, Optical Compareter.
- A degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) is considered an asset.
- Mechanical background & aptitude.
- Prior experience with PC-DMIS programming language and GD&T knowledge is a must.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting engineering specifications.
- Basic understanding/use of statistical tools & analysis.
- Good computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office.
- Basic Math & Trigonometry knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete projects as required.
- Must be fluent in English (written/oral).
